FEVM FNGT5 PRO — Powerful Graphics in Miniature: eGPU with Thunderbolt 5 and RTX 4060 – 4090
12:37, 05.06.2025
The PC world continues to move towards portability, and external graphics cards (eGPUs) are becoming increasingly relevant for users who value high graphics performance without bulky system units.
At Computex 2025, FEVM unveiled the FNGT5 PRO — one of the smallest and most technologically advanced eGPUs on the market.
Thunderbolt 5 and OCuLink Support
The new product is the first external GPU to support Thunderbolt 5 and OCuLink, the two fastest data transfer interfaces.
Thunderbolt 5 is capable of transferring up to 80 Gbps, and OCuLink up to 64 Gbps, minimizing latency and frame loss during image transmission. The FNGT5 PRO uses the latest Intel JHL9840 controller, ensuring full compatibility with the latest standards.
Miniature Case and Powerful Contents
The FNGT5 PRO surprises not only with its interfaces, but also with its size, only 143×100×60 mm, which is slightly less than one liter in volume. Power is supplied externally, but the device can deliver up to 100 W via Power Delivery, allowing you to charge your laptop with a single cable.
Inside, there are mobile versions of RTX 4000 series graphics cards — a logical choice for eGPUs: less heat, less power consumption, while maintaining high performance. The following configurations are available to users:
- RTX 4060 Laptop — 3072 cores, 8 GB of memory — $552
- RTX 4080 Laptop — 7424 cores, 12 GB of memory — $1036
- RTX 4090 Laptop — 9728 cores, 16 GB of memory — $1367
FEVM Sets the Pace, the Market Prepares the Response
Despite the hefty price tag of the top configuration, FEVM is taking a bold step forward in the eGPU industry by offering high performance in a case that can literally fit in a bag. This solution could be the perfect choice for professionals who work on the go and gamers who value mobility.
It is worth noting that FEVM is not the only company working in this direction. Earlier this year, Asus introduced an eGPU with RTX 5090 and Thunderbolt 5, but its solution costs over $2,200. Against this backdrop, the FNGT5 PRO looks like a much more affordable and practical choice.
