New 2nm Architecture — AMD Zen 6
14:48, 22.12.2025
AMD has shared details about the Zen 6 architecture, which represents the company’s most extensive update in recent years. The key features of this architecture are maximum throughput and simultaneous multithreading (SMT) technology.
Technological Progress: 2 nm and 256 Cores
Zen 6 processors will be manufactured using TSMC’s 2nm-class process technology, delivering a substantial increase in energy efficiency. In server configurations, the core count will scale up to 256, enabling AMD to secure leading positions in the high-performance computing segment.
Data Centers as a Top Priority
Unlike previous generations, Zen 6 is AMD’s first design developed from the ground up specifically for data centers. The architecture is optimized for massive computational workloads and maximum throughput, rather than merely peak clock frequencies.
The exact specifications of consumer-grade processors are not yet known, but it is clear that technologies aimed at the server segment will also enhance the power of home PCs, especially in tasks involving large-scale data processing.
