Bolt Graphics has recently announced the release of Zeus graphics cards. 4 models will have leading characteristics in the ray tracing tasks.
Features of Zeus
The GPU of the base model Zeus 1c26-32 consists of two separate chips, one of which is responsible for computing tasks, and the other for I/O interfaces. The GPU performance chip consists of clusters with the following components:
- Unnamed graphics accelerators.
- One scalar processor.
- 128 MB of unified cache.
- FP64 cores.
- A separate router for data transmission.
The memory subsystem is based on LPDDR5X, and depending on the model, it can be from 32 to 256 GB. Also, the video memory can be expanded with SODIMM slots. As for the following models, 2c26-64, 2c26-128, and 4c26-256, they consist of 2 or 4 computing chips.
The peculiarity of this line is the speed of ray tracing. Even in the basic Zeus model, these figures exceed those of the RTX 5090 by 2.5 times. This performance is achieved even with lower power consumption. This data exists only on paper, and no tests with real hardware have been conducted yet.
Most likely, the new graphics cards will be focused on highly specialized tasks. The first hardware samples are likely to be available in Q4 of this year.
