According to recently released financial information, demand for Intel’s budget-friendly processors has significantly outpaced supply. CFO David Zinsner has mentioned that all the available Wildcat Lake chips are already sold out.
Insights into the Global Chip Shortage
Wildcat Lake chips are considered a very affordable option, especially given the general price escalation across the industry.
Price increases for personal computers are very noticeable right now. The major impact is due to the shortage of RAM and other basic components. When taking into consideration such circumstances, Wildcat Lake processors are becoming a great alternative. The chips are already used in Windows-based laptops such as HP OmniBook 5 and Dell XPS 13. These devices usually offer only 8 GB of RAM, which might be insufficient for most laptops.
Zinsner is sure that next year won’t bring any significant improvement to the current memory shortage. The situation may be shifting slightly in 2028. His forecasts are rather optimistic when compared with other experts in the field.
