On Tuesday, Samsung Electronics announced that it has developed a new memory chip with the highest capacity in the industry as of today. The chip is called HBM3E 12H and is designed to meet the needs of artificial intelligence developers.
Samsung Electronics is planning to cut production of NAND and HBM memory due to what the company believes to be unjustifiably low market prices. Prices for solid-state memory have been rising steadily and increased by 8.87% in December last year. Despite this, the company has decided to reduce NAND production to stabilize the market.
At IFS Direct Connect 2024, representatives of the company mentioned about the production of Clearwater Forest processor wafers on the 18A process, as well as the 14A process that will use High-NA EUV technology. At this stage, Intel is pursuing an aim of launching five processes during a four-year period. Microsoft was also present at the event and representatives informed about their chips on the Intel 18A process.
